After careful preparations our client and Mammoet Maritime, supported by the local authorities, started on the last stage of the work on the new tunnel for the Noord Zuid Lijn metro route in Amsterdam. This tunnel section runs across the Binnen IJ waterway, from the rear of Central Station to the north bank of the IJ waterway.

On Sunday the 6th of May, a customer phoned Mammoet Maritime to report that a newly installed railway bridge had fallen off its foundation. The new railway bridge, which was resting partly on the ground and partly on the new bridge pillar, threatened to fall onto the old railway bridge. The customer asked if we could help them find a way to solve this problem.
