Coastal Tug Zephyrus

Mammoet Maritime put the coastal tug Zephyrus into service on 1 April. The Zephyrus was built in 1992, under the name IJsselstroom, at Jac. Den Breejen & Zn in Hardinxveld.

Mammoet Maritime bought the IJsselstroom in August 2009, after which the ship underwent a refit, for which Hoekman Shipbuilding was responsible, between November 2009 and March 2010.

In the course of the refit the panelling, the main engines, the electrical installation and the whole of the nautical installation were among the items replaced. Since the Zephyrus has a 30-mile certificate, it will be used for all towing activities both on the inland waterways and in the coastal waters.
