Heavy Lifting
Heavy lifting on water is one of Mammoet Maritime’s specialisms. We carry out a huge range of lifting activities with the help of our floating sheerlegs and crane pontoons. Examples include hoisting in and removing bridges and bridge sections, installing offshore windmills, laying underwater pipes, transhipping heavy loads, and moving and installing ship sections, wharf cranes, lock doors, flood-control dams, and other civil installations.
Mammoet Maritime has floating sheerlegs and crane pontoons of varying size and capacity. Our large, seagoing floating sheerleg, the AMSTERDAM, can be deployed in all European coastal waters and harbors. Thanks to its limited crest level and width, 90% of all European rivers and canals can also be navigated by this giant with its lifting capacity of 300 tons.
We have the IBIS, a crane pontoon with a 360º rotating, 250-ton crane especially for the German market. Its special dimensions and limited draft enable us to navigate on practically all German canals and rivers as well as the hinterland in Poland and the Czech Republic.
As with all our other activities, we can offer heavy lifting as part of a complete project that includes several services, such as delivery by land and water.
